STUDY TOUR TO AUSTRALIA

The department of Safety and Liaison wishes to congratulate Ms Pumla Nqakula, Deputy Director of Special Programmes (monitoring Service 
Delivery Improvement Programmes in the SAPS) who will be undertaking a study tour to Australia from the 20th to 2nd March 2001.

Ms Nqakula has been nominated with other two new Board Members by the Gambling and Betting Board to undertake this tour for the purposes of 
gaining better understanding about the gambling industry. This visit comes at a time when the department and the Province are facing 
different challenges in the area of crime, tourism and the economic development of the country as a whole.

The department is of the view that experiences gained from this tour will be beneficial to them as well as to the economic growth of the 
Eastern Cape at large.
